LOCATION: St Marys, PA
DUTIES:
– Prepares, reviews, utilizes, and disseminates ATOD educational and informational materials to promote substance abuse and gambling education.
– Provides community awareness of available services utilizing a variety of techniques including agency website.
– Interacts with community organizations and individuals in representing ADAS, Inc. including representation of agency on community councils and multi-agency teams, health fairs, and other speaking engagements and presentations.
– Consults and interacts with Student Assistance Program (SAP) core teams in schools that have implemented programs.
– Provides educational resources, technical assistance, and referral for programs, agencies and community members seeking ATOD or gambling related information.
– Refers individuals and families seeking treatment or counseling to the proper facility within the system.
– Delivers presentations to schools, civic and communities to develop awareness of ATOD and gambling related problems including ADAS efforts to address them and how to access ADAS and SCA contracted services.
– Conducts ATOD and gambling prevention curriculum in preschool and K-12.
– Facilitates groups to a variety of participants including First Time Offenders and Youthful Offenders.
– Attends meetings, trainings, and workshops to develop, maintain and enhance knowledge and skills appropriate to the position.
– Acts as one of the SCA’s lead trainers for Commonwealth Approved Trainers and attends appropriate training to maintain agency status as a Commonwealth Approved Trainer.
– Researches and pursues alternative sources of funding.
– Enters data on DDAP’s electronic/web-based WITS.
– Travels by means of own transportation. Overnight travel may be necessary at times.
– Performs all other duties as related to the prevention department.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
One year as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist Trainee.
or
A bachelor’s degree in health education, education, the social or behavioral sciences and 1 (one) year of experience in drug and
alcohol prevention work.

– Addressed the ancillary needs of individuals participating in treatment, including MAT coordination and medication monitoring. Conducts intake interviews in the Ridgway and St. Mary’s offices, utilizing appropriate assessment practices to obtain necessary information from clients, families, and/or involved collaterals for the identification of service needs for drug and alcohol related problems.
– Determines level of care based on placement guidelines
– Determines appropriate funding arrangements and authorizes or recommends services for alcohol and other drug clients
– Orients clients to the program, policies, procedures and treatment process
– Updates the clients service plan as needed
– Provides case coordination services to determine client non-treatment needs that need to be Addressed as part of the recovery process and to ensure access to available alcohol and other drug and Ancillary services, such as housing, child care, medical and financial services
– Monitors client treatment progress and/or utilization review activity
– Prepares written reports and maintains client records utilizing Electronic Medical Records
– Administers urine screens as necessary
– Serves as an advocate for clients
– Acts as liaison between prescribing physicians and D&A treatment providers for clients receiving medication assisted therapies.
– Acts as a liaison between Penn highlands Elk, ADAS and all D&A treatment providers
– Facilitates the warm hand off process (WHO) to all individuals in care at Penn Highlands with a desire to obtain treatment services
– Travels by means of own transportation. Overnight travel may be necessary at times.
– Must be flexible and available to travel to other office locations for coverage as needed.
– Performs all other duties as related to the Case Management department
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
One year as a Drug and Alcohol Case Management Specialist Trainee;
Or: A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Dependency, Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Nursing or a related field; and one year direct service experience performing counseling or case management work in alcohol or other drug treatment setting;
Or: A bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 18 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, criminal justice or other related social sciences; and one year direct service experience performing counseling or case management work in alcohol or other drug treatment setting.
Or: Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

LOCATION: Maple Manor, Bradford, PA
DUTIES:
This position is located at Maple Manor, 139 Minard Run Road, Bradford, PA 16701. Maple Manor is an inpatient alcohol and drug rehab facility that can accommodate 24 individuals.
– Provide instruction role modeling, and coaching individuals in skill building activities such as budgeting, job interviewing, civic involvement, or self-assertiveness training
– Provide instruction, role modeling, and coaching individuals in skill building activities such as budgeting, job interviewing, civic involvement, or self-assertiveness training
– Encourages individuals’ empowerment in asserting their rights and needs
– Work with the pharmacy and medical professionals to ensure timeliness of medication refills and new order fills
– Provide support in habilative and life skills for areas of deficit based on the individuals’ needs, which includes provided authentic instruction and linking individuals to necessary resources
– Attends AA/NA meetings and educational conferences in order to learn facts, skills, abilities, and attitudes necessary for assisting clients to return to independent living
– Provides individuals with knowledge of nutrition, family organization, and money management skills
– Work collaboratively with DATS, case managers and the inpatient supervisor in order to actively participate in the development of continued programs and services available for clients
– Resolves problems with individuals and interacts with other “team members” (treatment team, probation, medical professionals, etc., as applicable) to eliminate obstacles to recovery. e.g. linkage to child-care, employment, transportation, housing, etc.
– Provides input to individuals developing a personal recovery plan, which provides self-determined direction to one’s recovery process
– Conducts recovery check-ups and promotion by observing behavior and forms of individual contacts and feedback such as telephone or email
– Conducts groups in order to facilitate goal-oriented skill transfer related to deficits present within the population in a recovery oriented atmosphere
– Advises and informs individuals regarding community resources, including housing, employment, education, transportation, recreation, health, religious/spiritual, and other resources to meet goals, objectives, and needs
– Advises and informs by providing information to individuals on individuals’ medications
– Prepares written documentation of services provided to individuals and the effectiveness of delivered supports
– Adheres to agency rules and regulations, safety programs in order to respond to emergency situations
– Documents and maintains files of the progress clients have made toward accomplishing the goals and objectives delineated in treatment plans
– Maintains records and reports, under the supervision of inpatient supervisor, in order to learn and gain proficiency in the procedure
– Develops and implements recovery oriented programs with approval of inpatient supervisor
– Transports clients to appointments as needed
– Provides information about services to callers
– Shares strengths, hopes, and experiences with clients where applicable, including in group and individual settings
– Provides back-up support to other staff members
– Provides whatever services are needed for the wellbeing of the clients
– Provides Seeking Safety sessions
– Performs other duties as assigned
