What is Narcan?

Narcan is an easy to use nasal spray that may reverse an opioid overdose. 

Where to get Narcan in Cameron, Elk and McKean County

Anyone can get Narcan free of cost!

Pennsylvania’s Physician General has written standing orders for the general public to be able to obtain Narcan without prescription from their doctor.  Although not necessary in order to obtain the medication it is recommended that individuals receive training to recognize the signs and symptoms of an overdose and to learn how to properly administer Narcan.

It is also available for free at any of our seven locations.

Pharmacies

Any Pennsylvania resident is able to access Narcan through their local pharmacy due to PA Act 139.  Please consider the following information:

  • Call ahead to your pharmacy to ensure they have Naloxone/Narcan in stock. 
  • Decide whether you’ll use your insurance to obtain Naloxone.  Most insurance plans will cover this medication, but co-pays can vary depending on insurance and product type. 
  • Ask the Pharmacist to provide instruction and ask questions.
