THE VACANCY:
Drug & Alcohol Treatment Specialist – full time
Pay Range 35: $30,336 (40 hours) annually, $1,166.77 biweekly

THE LOCATION:
Inpatient Department, Bradford, PA

THE DUTIES:

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to learn the drug and alcohol abusing subculture.
  • Ability to learn crisis intervention methods; individual, family, group and marital counseling techniques; and techniques for modifying behavior.
  • Ability to read and understand office guidelines and office forms, such as, liability forms, insurance forms, staffing forms, and consent forms.
  • Ability to learn to conduct individual, group, family and marital counseling sessions.
  • Ability to learn to write and update treatment plans, admission and discharge summaries, daily progress notes, monthly reports, form letters, and correspondence relating to specific clients.
  • Ability to learn to assess level of client dependency on substances, progress in treatment, and environmental factors influencing client.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

A Bachelor’s degree with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in human services) or other behavioral science and two (2) years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency.

Recovery Support Specialist
Pay Range 27:  $10,482 (20 hours)  ($10.08 hourly)

Coudersport, PA

THE REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of the purpose, goals and objectives of the drug and alcohol recovery process.

Knowledge of drug and alcohol recovery support program practices and community resources.

Knowledge of the drug and alcohol services delivery system.

Ability to communicate effectively orally.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Ability to maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Ability to demonstrate assertiveness.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Full certification as a drug and alcohol recovery support specialist by a statewide certification body which is a member of a National certification body or certification by another state government’s substance abuse certification board preferred. A minimum of 18 months of lived recovery experience in a continuous manner.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of current developments in the drug and alcohol field.

Knowledge of problems in the schools and community in relation to drug and alcohol consumption.

Knowledge of school district organizational structure, curriculum, policies and practices.

Knowledge of community organizations and their function relative to drug and alcohol related problems.

Knowledge of health impacts relating to drug and alcohol consumption.

Knowledge of the alcohol highway safety laws and their application.

Ability to gather data in order to compose advertising and educational literature and deliver speeches on drug and alcohol topics.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with the general public.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
One year as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist Trainee.
or
A bachelor’s degree in health education, education, the social or behavioral sciences and 1 (one) year of experience in drug and alcohol prevention work.

THE VACANCY:
Drug & Alcohol Residential Worker “As Needed / On-Call”
Pay Range 27:  $10.08 per hour (20 hours maximum)

Maple Manor, Bradford, PA

THE DUTIES:

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to develop and maintain a sympathetic and understanding attitude when working with program clients.
  • Ability to learn and apply simple principles and methods of drug and alcohol rehabilitation to facility residents.
  • Ability to make judgments regarding the health and welfare of program clients and to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to provide appropriate transportation for residents to appointments.
  • Ability to maintain records.
  • Ability to do housekeeping duties.
  • Ability to do light cooking and food prep.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
No previous experience and training required.  One year of experience in healthcare preferred.
